The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders 400% raise may seem like a lot, but they still must hold other jobs & get no healthcare. βWomen have been paid so poorly in sports, massive increases in pay still donβt bring women to what they are worth." @wagesofwins.bsky.social

Glad you got out when you did.
That makes sense too. My ex was very jealous any time I worked and had income of my own. He was so insecure.
Women can be bullies too.
Makes sense. I had a very controlling mother. She was manipulative and bipolar her entire life.
Wow, had no idea. Do you have a link to study or other that explains this in further detail?
That's what it took for me to leave too. The day he hurt one of our children was the last straw. He didn't stop there though. He assaulted a police officer and went to jail. Was a dead-beat-dad after that. I tried to leave earlier, but it was difficult with multiple preschool kids and I was only 22.
Yes, it can happen to males as well.
In 10 states with active paid parental bonding leave programs, men took at least 40% of the leave in 8 states, 35% in DC and 30% in NJ. In WA and CO, fathers take more than half of the leave.

Same in my marriage decades ago. My husband was jealous every time another man looked at me. He got drunk one night at a company function & punched out my front teeth in our home that night. Blamed me for one of his customers hitting hit on me. I was 22 yrs old. He became my ex.
Study (N=815) finds domestic violence starts w/ coercive control over who a partner can see, what they wear, where they can go or questioning the partner's sanity. On average, physical abuse doesn't start until after marriage or moving into together.
