If you are scoffing at people for engaging solely online ... have you offered rides to disabled people? Do you mask? Do you reach out to & visit homebound disabled people? Do you help them get mobility aids & other accessibility devices? Do you meet in accessible spaces? And on & on.
Pro tip: If you are attending a rally or action, wear a N95 mask & bring extras to give to others.
High quality masks can serve triple-duty: they prevent you and others from getting sick from airborne viruses, they keep your face warm in the freezing cold, & they can protect against surveillance.
We have adult and children's masks available. If you're someone lucky enough to have some extra funds, consider donating masks or tests or money to your local bloc. Tests are always in short supply and always needed.
Pro tip: If you are attending a crowded event in winter, wearing a well-fitting mask like an N95 can serve double duty by keeping your face warm and keeping viruses away.
(yes, transmission can still happen outdoors in crowds or with close and sustained contact to someone who is sick).
Unmitigated illness is a tool used by fascists to eliminate the groups of people they hate & have deprived of resources, while making money off those who can afford to play the pay-to-win game of for-profit healthcare.
Wearing an n95 is an act of hope, solidarity, & resistance. Give/get mutual aid:
We have plenty to go around and are happy to help folks find a model that fits their face best!
are you a parent trying to keep your kiddo safe as our health systems collapse? mask bloc la has a zine: “Helping Kids Mask” with info and recs for this surreal situation we find ourselves in. hopefully this link works but it’s also at the zine library in my bio.

Covid-19 has been linked to cardiovascular complications, but the long-term impacts, particularly for mild infections, are not well understood. A study in Nature Communications demonstrate an increased risk of cardiovascular disease after Covid-19, also among mild cases. #medsky #cardiosky 🧪
Minimalist white poster with a subtle crumpled-paper texture; small ‘whn.global’ logo centered at the top. A small intro line sits above a huge headline where ‘COVID’ is bright red and ‘is different.’ is black. Text: ‘Paraphrased from David Brasure’s WHN blog post, “COVID Is Different.” Read the full article at whn.global/covid-is-different. COVID is different. SARS-CoV-2 behaves differently from the viruses most of us grew up with. And treating it like “another flu” is costing people their health.’ Footer: The World Health Network is a network devoted to global compassion—working together to inspire collective action through science for a safer, healthier world.
Same white, paper-texture poster and top ‘whn.global’ logo. Large title reads ‘What makes COVID different?’ with ‘COVID’ in red, followed by a bulleted list. Text: ‘Paraphrased from David Brasure’s WHN blog post, “COVID Is Different.” Read the full article at whn.global/covid-is-different. What makes COVID different? • It can breach the blood–brain barrier • It can damage your endothelial lining and increase clot risk • It can persist in tissues • It can lower key immune cells • It may increase cancer risk • You can catch it multiple times per year These are not “normal cold virus” behaviors.’ Footer line about the World Health Network.
Same clean white poster with paper texture; ‘whn.global’ at top. Big statement line mid-page where ‘Long COVID’ appears in red and the rest in black; two short paragraphs below. Text: ‘Paraphrased from David Brasure’s WHN blog post, “COVID Is Different.” Read the full article at whn.global/covid-is-different. Long COVID is caused by SARS-CoV-2. Persistent symptoms come from real, documented damage. Not anxiety, not imagination, not “just needing rest.” Hundreds of thousands of studies show SARS-CoV-2 affects the body in ways we’re still uncovering. Just because you’ve had multiple infections and “felt fine” doesn’t mean it will stay that way.’ Footer line about the World Health Network.

Here’s what you can do. • Improve air quality (filters, ventilation) • Wear a high-filtration mask in shared indoor air • Test when exposed or symptomatic • Stay home when sick • Use layered protections with friends, family, and workplaces Read more at whn.global/covid-is-different’ Footer line about the World Health Network.
COVID isn’t acting like the viruses most of us grew up with, and treating it like “just a cold” is putting people at real risk. David Brasure breaks down why SARS-CoV-2 is fundamentally different, how it causes long-term damage, and what we can do to protect ourselves.
Not to relate everything to covid but this is basically what the government did to reopen things in 2021. Delta's CEO said they couldnt keep shit as profitable as they wanted with the protections in place and the Biden admin caved immediately. We always sacrifice the sick and the marginalized
We’re the vendors lol. So no? There’s no store or anything it’s just members of mask up that make the chains as a type of fundraiser. You could email or dm us on instagram if you want to buy one and we could see if someone could drop one off to you?

This appears to be the same list that's been used for Paxlovid. Some tips:
--Any mental health condition that you take a medication for counts.
--ME, Long Covid, etc. are not on this list (!) but in a pinch, you can claim "physical inactivity."
--No one checks self-attested smoking history.
"I don’t know how to convince everyone that we can’t give up. So many people consider COVID to be endemic, or accept that everyone will eventually become infected, thinking nothing more can be done... but I know a better world is possible and we will move forward together."
last night, someone on tiktok asked
me how wearing a mask is antifascist, so i answered: unfortunately, even passive, austere eugenics works faster if YOU participate.
so step up: stand out, mask up, and take care take care take care for yourself & others—before those who seek to harm stop you.
My maintenance guy who always wears an n95 at my request & waves away gratitude with “you should feel safe in your own home” brought me a plate from the building bbq so I wouldn’t feel left out.
He said he wore a mask I gave him to the birth of his granddaughter.
Keep educating & resourcing folks!
Hey folks! In response to the cokeworks explosion, Mask Up Pgh is at the Jefferson Hills library handing out masks tonight! Come see us if you need some!
