Within the world and jargon of “workforce readiness,” the question of valuable to whom and then the question of why are relevant. This all suggests students are an exploitable resource but not people to educate, mentor, and support.

Today I reminded colleagues at USC that the company behind Claude, which was being hyped, scrapped/stole at least 138 books that bear the copyright of our university…

No such policies at USC Press and Mark’s take seems right. Probably not any one’s good idea but the drift of a reasonable practice re metadata into an inappropriate area.
