This is only going to get worse.

Workers—regardless of status—deserve dignity, not raids. Safety, not militarized violence. Today, I stood with labor and community leaders to say: San Diego will not be silent. We will not be complicit.

Renters, builders defend San Diego's ADU program as council backs off repeal effort The City Council rescinded a request to repeal the city's landmark ADU bonus program, but pledged to work with Mayor Todd Gloria to limit where it applies.

Councilmember Jen Campbell held up a picture of an ADU development in Clairemont yesterday as an example of poor design.

I was at that exact ADU complex on Friday and spoke with a tenant, Sarah Agudo. She told me she loved her home and is glad it got built.

One thing Newsom should do *right now* is a statewide rent freeze. They did it during lockdown, they can do it again. And yes, statewide, because every landlord within 200 miles of LA is eagerly waiting for fire refugees to move into their area.

This is abhorrent, but let's be clear: it’s just a more extreme version of what we see every day in cities across the country, where landlords exploit desperate renters for maximum profit.

Measure G failure shows urban-suburban divide over funding for public transit The city of San Diego and most of the South Bay saw majorities supporting Measure G. But that wasn't enough to counteract strong opposition in North and East County suburbs.

Measure G, a half-cent sales tax that would have given 64% of revenue to public transit in San Diego County, has failed 51-49. A closer look at the results show strong support in urban areas wasn't enough to overcome opposition in the suburbs. 1/ www.kpbs.org/news/local/2...
