A better way should be to count tokensβ¦. Or if the software you write is usefulβ¦
I have no idea. I donβt have a tool to count. my code base was ~17megs s few years ago. MoF is large-ish. But not the largest. At current rate I probably write about 2 megs of code a year. (I donβt count generated code)
What does stdout.txt say?
Cars, bridges and houses are constantly battered by the elements, Software is made out of bits, that do not degrade. It stays the same. So why does software require so much more maintenance than cars, bridges and houses?

This was the first week of me running Quel Solaar as a proper Game development Studio with 2 employees. Iβm funding it all out of my own pocket, and while Iβm very unlikely to see any of that money ever again, Im determined to have the best of times, and make cool stuff.
I just released a paper for the Wg14, that will hopefully help people understand the Effective type system in C.

No the game is sadly no longer available. :-(
As the developer passes the 5 stages of grief caused by Undefined Behaviour, its customary to pay a visit to the wg14 during the bargaining stage.
You could argue that this or that syntax would be prettier or save a key stroke or two. You could wish a few constraints would be harder or looser, but none of it is consequential on a deeper level. No improvement, is worth breaking compatibility, with every system and almost every dev in the world.
The biggest problem with C is that everyone tries to "fix it" by adding stuff. It shows me that they don't understand why its good. Its good because its has everything you need to do anything you want and not much more, and its universally implemented, accepted and understood.
Russia spends 156$ Billion on its military (6.7% of GDP). If EU spends 2.0% of its GDP on defence that's 360$ Billions, and that's not counting Ukraine, Europe's largest force. We can do this.
A new game engine called Phobos.
Iβm still looking to hire game designers / programmers in Stockholm, for the studio Iβm building. Im also interested in finding summer interns.
Im only hiring locally in Stockholm. It sucks that i have to limit myself that way, but i just donβt know how to do what Iβm planning to do remotely.
Congratulations to Volkswagen. You are no longer βthe Nazi carβ.
I'm looking to hire some creative junior C programmers in Stockholm, who have an interest in game design, to mentor and build a game studio around. If you are driven and want to build something, or know someone, let me know.
Prediction: US congress will fail to put a dent in the deficit, and tariffs and deportations will add to inflation, so the fed will hike rates again, Trump will fire the Fed Chairman and Interest rates on treasury bonds will skyrocket.
(Just posting this so I can say told-you-so if it happens )
I just got a long angry mail refuting every theory of why C is susessfull i made in βWhy is C the safest language?β, but it didnβt once refute that C has been more successful than any other language in producing trusted software. π
Have anyone tried using parallax mapping, to encode diffuse reflections in to lightmaps?
I wrap everything and Iβm 100% portable. I have 2 OS wrappers (imagine and betray), a graphics wrapper (relinquish) and a UI library (Seduce). Iβve written it all from scratch. If you donβt want to do that i would go Dear Imgui. Donβt trust anyone.
For sure its a trade off. To me the whole Unity debacle shows the dangers of tieing yourself to a platform you dont control.
Why tie yourself to an engine? Engines tend to come and go.
Why is C the safest language?

Both HL and HL2 are very long single player shooters (compared to shooters naw and then) and would have benefited from some trimming (Canals, highway and zen comes to mind. Gordon is meant to be this very pivotal characte, yet spends most of his time in abandoned places. Tianfall1 is multipayer only
There was a lot of lessons from HL2 that wasnβt learned. Titanfall had its own innovations. What HL2 lacks is pacing and spectacle. You spend a lot of time in abandoned structures no filled with trash. Play Titanfall 2, its an extremely low friction game to get in to.
