As a Canadian, I support this plan. Our healthcare system isn’t perfect, but I’ve never gone into debt for dr visits or surgeries-they cost me nothing. We have federal dental coverage for low-income citizens, and while Rx and vision care are costly, I still choose our system over the US model.
This isn’t caving to appease the gangster. Tariffs just raise prices for Canadians. Dropping them frees us up to focus on real priorities, like strengthening trade ties and getting ready for CUSMA negotiations next year. Better to play the long game now than posture and lose leverage later.
