I'm pleased to see this land purchase is complete, a key step towards a new hospital. I will continue to work with ministers, the NHS & local partners to improve hospital waiting times and care now, and press for better GP access and shorter waits.

Was a pleasure to speak with the brilliant Max and his dad Steve today both from Basingstoke. We had a meeting with the Brittle Bone Society about what MPs need to be doing to support those with Osteogenesis Imperfecta

Yesterday I met with the Policing Minister to make the case for Basingstoke. We train officers here but lose too many to neighbouring forces with higher allowances despite similar living costs. I want to see a fair uplift so we keep officers locally and strengthen neighbourhood policing.

I spoke with Kit from ITV about how the proposed changes to the SEND system in the Schools White Paper will build a system where children with additional needs get the right support, at the right time, closer to home - without parents having to fight for it.

Saturday I attended the SNG drop-in at the Ridgeway Centre to hear your views on the proposed regeneration of Buckskin and South Ham.

Many raised concerns about a lack of certainty on timelines, the wider plan and long-term impact.

Today I put Basingstoke hospitality & retail businesses' questions and concerns to the Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury

🧡 5/5 The Living Standards Coalition is proud to support a plan that puts people, place, and purpose at the centre of the clean energy transition. I encourage community groups and local authorities to engage with the GBE Toolkit and help us build our energy for the future

10.02.2026 17:14 πŸ‘ 3 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

🧡 4/5 This Plan also provides an opportunity for growth in communities, creating skilled jobs across regions, cities and towns, ensuring that the wealth generated by our natural resources – whether that’s wind, solar or nuclear – stays with the people that produce it.

10.02.2026 17:14 πŸ‘ 2 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

🧡 3/5 The Local Power Plan will bring about the largest public investment in community energy in UK history, backed up by £1 billion through GB Energy. By 2030 every community should have the opportunity to own its own clean energy project so that we all benefit directly from the clean transition.

10.02.2026 17:14 πŸ‘ 2 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

🧡 2/5 As a co-convenor of the Living Standards Coalition, I have been clear that addressing the high cost-of-living is central to this Labour government’s success, and this policy is delivering just that: reforming our energy system to permanently lower bills and give communities a real stake in it.

My team’s research uncovered that for nearly seven years the NHS was effectively blocked from accessing money meant to support infrastructure, like GP services, even as new housing went up.

Great to meet Zara, who is campaigning for better representation of bald people in media, fashion and public life ✨

Around 70% of bald women feel misrepresented in the media, and children with visible differences face higher risks of bullying. Representation matters.

I shared the thoughts and experiences of Basingstoke parents, students and teachers on SEND with the Secretary of State for Education.

I was really pleased to hear that she is taking on board our recommendations, and that local families and professionals will help shape the changes ahead.

The rise of buy-now, pay-later discounts – and how it’s landing women in debt Incentives to use delayed-pay schemes are pushing people to spend more than they can afford, charities warn

Was quoted in this article. Retailers should not be incentivising people to get into debt who are not able to afford it. Stricter Gov rules in July 2026 for mandatory affordability checks are much needed.
