I agree, it feels disingenuous. It is weird the immediate reaction to shit on the ex regardless of what they’ve done is reinforced on a cultural level too. I certainly remember growing up seeing it in media. Seeing good relationships with exes were rarely shown except when they became sexual again.

Having to explain to your managers how a product’s engineers are correct and the google ai summarization they looked up is wrong feels weird. As cyber sec you’d think managers would be better at double checking their sources from something with a history of hallucination.

That is totally fair. Just because you no longer date someone doesn’t mean you want to demean them or the ex deserves to be demeaned whenever they are brought up in conversation. Especially if you are still friends with the ex.
