Kids don't just love comics on Sunday π
Yeah, it's fabulous! I used to love the Funday Times so much as a kid. I never dreamed I'd be in it one day!
What a great thing to have it back and it's especially nice to see it packed with some of my favourite creators! Yes, every week sounds perfect. Maybe every day π
You're very welcome! xx
So exciting! Such a great cover too mate! I loved the Funday Times so much when I was small
THIS SUNDAY, The Sunday Times has brought back The Funday Times as part of their reading campaign and The Phoenix is involved! The Funday Times was a weekly comic supplement, all big and newspapery, an absolute joy to read and an instrumental part of a lot of our childhoods π€©
I couldn't resist getting one, they're all so beautiful (and so affordable!)
Eek! Less than one hour to goβ¦!β°π
Oh no, I hadn't heard! That's terrible.
I'm horrified, but I also wish I was more surprised. A few fb groups for aspiring kids authors seem to get pushed to my feed fairly regularly, and I often see people having to explain to self published authors that if they use an AI cover, people will probably assume that the text is AI as well.
RR Type 4 π When I finally make space to get my old crt out that will probably be the first thing I play!
Yeah, I think you're right. The widespread adoption of it is such a miserable thing, the 'it's just a bit of fun, don't take it so seriously' of it all winds me up so much.
It's getting harder and harder to boycot every business that uses AI images in their advertising too, I hate it so much!
Nice, I didn't know of them! That driving bassline would definitely help anyone keep momentum I think, great pick!
Congratulations! See you there! π
This style of light doesn't really appear in animation anymore. You know it when you see it -- it's bright, hot and almost dangerous.
Our new issue explores the tricks behind it, and how one artist has revived the look for the digital age: animationobsessive.substack.com/p/dangerous-...
This was so interesting, thanks!

Me and Kate (co-author on The Firelight Isle) both love playing with unconventional panel layouts, so here are a few from across the story!
Finally collecting all three volumes in print right now!

I wasn't really thinking in those terms back then, but I'd have totally assumed the BG was an official asset if you'd asked me before you posted that.
I never played the game by the way, but always wanted it. I keep hoping for a virtual console release, N64 mag sold me on Goemon 64 hard π
I remember that issue! Great stuff. The background was well worth whatever time it took
I was hoping they'd slap Saturn Bomberman in there too π©
I'm not sure what the show is. I still have Disney plus from a rolling annual subscription, but their AI ambitions mean I'm definitely not renewing when it expires.
I would have kept it purely so my daughter can watch Bluey, but then I realised that it's also on iPlayer!
Beautiful drawing!
Thanks man! π»
Thanks man! Aww, that's very kind of you to say, hope you're keeping well pal!
Thanks pal!
I have an advance copy of my upcoming book, Legacy! I cannot tell you how thrilled I am to have my first book in my hands at last!
We donβt need AI training sponsored by the tech firms selling it. We need AI education to help people understand what it canβt do, and what dangers lie ahead if you entrust your life to it
Great shouts! I can listen to stuff with lyrics just fine if I'm inking or colouring, but intrumentals only if I'm drawing roughs.
