Trump’s press conference in a nutshell

I met some brilliant individuals at Columbia, who were only there because of their military service. I feel for those who won’t have access to their dream schools, especially if they are from the area.

I left Canada the day of the Brexit vote, receiving the results on the plane. I've never regretted moving to the UK. It's home. Still, it would be hard to take a leap of faith to move to the UK in 2026. The instability through my 20's and 30's would be too high to justify the risk.

People need to replace β€œAI” with the word β€œcalculator” and see if they sound insane.

That's why I call them perpetrators: to focus justice on the ones who abused the victims

24.02.2026 11:44 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

This.

Can we please focus on some men instead of directing our scorn to women?

I’m not even here to defend anyone, but the perpetrators haven’t even been charged.

This can come across like a misogynist misdirection.

Ableism is terrible, but the fact that the N word is in that man’s mind at all is the problem. Too many people seem to equate it with less harmful swearing when it exists and is used to harm a group of people. Of course it’s offensive.

Plus BBC didn’t bleep it when they bleeped Palestine references

This laziness is how fake articles are becoming commonly cited.

I'll never understand why normal people pay attention to the met gala at this point. It's literally used to caricature out of touch opulence.

One of my largest anxieties is that WFH will be unavailable in the future. I'm hoping the rumour that the UK government is looking to put into law rights to work from home is real.

Oh this makes it so much sadder. Just a horrible experience all around.

This is the end result of people feeling that it's more important politicians "have a beer with them" than being substantial states persons.

As someone who is immunocompromised and in academia, I only engage with virtual conferences because academics are like the general population: some are vaccinated, some are not.

Being a PhD doesn't make them special.

What refusing to wear a mask does is exclude the vulnerable who can't risk it.

The Me Too movement is a revolution built upon women not willing to shut up.

Keep going.

Destiny doesn’t exist like this, and you can make great changes without needing to be the head of a country.

But it costs them nothing for people to work from home. If anything it saves those who can’t money on gas and time because congestion goes down.

I don’t know what I’d do as someone with multiple disabilities and chronic illnesses without work from home…

It wants economic growth and improved standard of living

… yet doesn’t want to reverse Brexit or embrace productivity boosting measures (like work from home)

All good! Have fun going through the genealogy 😊

Phew, I was worried there. I'm Canadian and grew up around a lot of anti-aboriginal reactions so wanted to check.

Is this a problem?

The context is good to know, but it’s still so jarring to see (from a non-American).

Like, anyone should act that way regardless of religious texts.

You know what could fix this? Work from home. Could literally become an economic boom for the country if London jobs were available to more locations. Company productivity would go up, and people could afford homes. It would also revitalize areas.

This makes me so angry

Love the sentiment, dislike the need to bring religion into politics. That's how Trump came to power.
