We drove on the beach along the Oregon coast in winter when it was deserted. This rusted skeleton of a shipwreck visible for miles away drew me toward it.

One of my favorites from Volcanoes National Park, Hawaii. Mauna Loa erupted just hours before and again hours after we were there. The area was supremely smoky and sulfurous.

The seawater that runs through the town of Ketchikan Alaska was basically a gigantic tide pool while at low tide. Hundreds of creatures and birds are visible. Was cool to stop by the Stoney Moose dispensary, chill and watch for a while.

A massive Sitka Spruce tree, shot from below, towers over the forest scene. Roots are visible on the sloping hillside upon which it is growing. Moss hangs from every root and branch.

May all we see as many years as this mighty Sitka spruce. Easily the largest in the mossy rainforest it calls home. Salmon swim up into the nearby fjord every year and fertilize the soil. The whole area smells amazing, fresh AF.
