You’re right. I’ve also caught myself in a particular WWE mindset in that every match must finish with a finisher. I used to feel underwhelmed by matches that finished with anything other than that wrestler’s signature move until I realized that’s actually kinda awesome. Adds an element of realism.

A few years back my stepson went to a friend’s house to watch wrestlemania with a group of people and he told me that as soon as the matches started, they either started talking to each other or got back on their phones. The only match they kinda watched was Cody/Roman.
