If Carney gave the reporter who asked if he could categorically rule out Canadian involvement a firm answer of, "Yes.' If the UN or NATO called on Canada to assist, he's now either a liar or breaks international commitments and treaties.
That's my point of how I interpreted Carney not being able to categorically rule out involvement. I don't see us involved at the behest of Israel or US, but NATO or UN.

How about Turkey, NATO Ally?
Stands to reason we're both blocked and others in our circle of friends. We share values.
Thanks for letting me know I'm not alone π
So this coward has deemed me to be worthy of several deplorable lists. Yet doesn't have the COURAGE to have me question the motives or defend my stance because he immediately BLOCKED ME
I hope you're right. I see a web of mutually beneficial trade alliances that will reduce everyone's dependencies on any single market or nation.
Canadians arenβt baffled. Carney said we may be involved in support of our NATO allies, he is not supporting the US war. If a NATO country is under attack by Iran and seeks assistance we may help. Listen to his speech.
Nobody has said otherwise. If you listen to his exact statement. He never said anything about joining US/Israel or invading Iran. Not ruling out becoming involved does not exclusively mean joining. There are other ways. Defending non aggressive nations in the region, peacekeeping.
He also said Tuesday (it's hard to keep dates straight when there's such a time gap π) at the Lowy Institute that Trump appreciates strong opposition in private, but (my words not Carney's) his ego is too fragile to be questioned publicly.
Carney was more diplomatic with his wording.
I believe his overall approval ratings have gone up over this past year. There are certainly people who supported him in the election, but have since been disappointed and are questioning policy decisions.
I speak for myself in saying he has yet to disappoint me both internationally and domestically. The closest he's come to disappointment is not outright denouncing the attacks by the US/Israel. I do understand and appreciate his framing and his very carefully worded response.

I'm curious to hear from my Aussie friends how you saw Carney's Parliament address and his visit overall.

I find it ironic that she's blaming him as a Baby Boomer. The fact that Baby boomers were the hippie generation that decreed "don't trust anyone over 30". They were the original "me generation" that everyone catered to. Yet they said they were going to fix the corrupt system.
Please tell me this is an AI joke. I would lose my mind if a contractor left me this. I would look crosseyed at a friend who lived with this.
I was hoping she'd win just to see if Bill would be called "The First Gentleman" or "Mr. President" it literally could have been Madam and Mr President π.
Although in all seriousness, it would have been The First Gentleman for those 4 or 8 years
Not recommended in the cell phone era. First, slamming the phone face down just shatters the screen. Second, before you have that satisfying, expensive slam, you have to press that little "hang up" button. Sure, you can poke it real hard. It's not the same, that's why you need the satisfying slamπ€£π
Currently too many pyrotechnicions otherwise known as mad men in elected positions
I'm sure Mango Mussolini's trade policy is a large factor. Having a former Investment Firm CEO and central banker of 2 G7 countries as PM, well, that's got a lot to do with it too.
I'll take foreign policy for 1000 Alex.
Answer: the bankrupter and the banker
"Who are Donald Trump and Mark Carney?"
I didn't hear him say "saviours", but it's clear he wants to return to "business as usual" with the US and has no idea the landscape has permanently been altered by the trump regime. Trump doesn't want "business as usual" he believes the rest of the world should be subservient to him.
It's only ok when you have the "Military might" to say, "What are you going to do about it?"
See Carney's speech from Davos. "Rules of the law are applied asymmetrically"
Hey GTL, I am subscribed, but I thought I'd reply here to your question to Leafs fans.
My respect for Matthews has dropped drastically. He seemed too happy to be there. They won't make playoffs this year, but if they ever win the Cup, Trump will never invite the team. I wonder how he'll feel then

Robert, you can't post that here, it's completely ineffective. For one she's not on Bluesky (that I know of), you have to go to Truth Social - the official US government memo sight.
As a secondary option you can use X π€£
Is it the right car? I'm guessing it's the same model, same colour.
They never gave it a first thought.
I would keep my eye on Georgian Senator Jon Ossoff. I'm impressed with that young man.
