If your bike is more upright than a road bike then the raincoat you already own will probably be fine for a while. For waterproof trousers cheap are OK to start just remember you have to swing your leg over to get on. (If you have a step through frame then you're allbgood.)
I am also a fan of the term acoustic bike.

Trying to catch myself recently from descending into negativity. It's quite difficult, and I wonder exactly when I flipped from being largely positive to unhealthily negative about the world around me.
