A copy of the book Perfect Organism: The Assembly Cut by Andy Kelly. The illustration on the cover shows a blood trail in a dark sci-fi ventilation system. A device with a glowing green screen lies on the ground.
Three tiny figures spacewalking outside a space station with a gas giant looming in the distance.
Blood splatters on the floor and an ominous shadow.
Someone watches through a vent as a figure brutally smashes the head of another figure into a wall.

Really love the slightly abstracted posters/leaflets etc. you find throughout Cairn. I never want to see or hear about "AI placeholder text" for stuff like this when you can so easily just have some artful squiggles in place of the fine details!
And no Marco, you're not guilt-tripping me back down the mountain with your patronising "maybe you climb to escape having human relationships?" spiel. Goddamit, I'm reaching that summit! β°οΈ

You can do that Author-Thing now where they sneak into a Barnes & Noble and secretly deface their own books with a signature :)
There's a much more compact, cheaper, accessible edition of Jacob's "How A Game Lives" out now, published by Harper Collins! Check your nearest big/mainstream bookstore - would love to see a photo if anyone catches it in the wild!
Worth it just for this double-page spread π€
Last chance to get in on The Fun π (Buy a Book + Watch Jacob Play Silksong!).

Hi there! ππΎ
I'm really excited to finally share what I've been working on these past couple of months! I'm putting a lot of time and energy into crafting a definitive behind-the-scenes breakdown of all the Amnesia games for fans and newcomers alike.

Great chat/interview - very interesting to hear all about your games media background prior to the *BIG "I DID A BOOK" ACHIEVEMENT* ! Although... to clarify for HR... at no point did I call you "Babe" or say "you really popped your pussy on that one [review]" π
If you'd like to learn more about β¨οΈCOCOON: Design Worksβ¨οΈ I had a gab with @sevenoutoften.co.uk about it for a bonus episode of Indieventure
Not currently, although we definitely plan to implement something like a release calendar soon!
Usually the ETA will be the next year, same quarter, so add 9-12 months on from the pre-order date. So Alan Wake will be Q3 next year ; Mouthwashing Q4, 2026, and so on.
Lastly, many thanks to @carlsengames.bsky.social @schmid.dk @zerbamine.bsky.social + everyone else at Geometric for their time & efforts. Wouldn't be able to make these books without their input + insight. These books take a lot of work to put together, so pick up a copy: www.lostincult.co.uk/cocoon
A few motifs we had in our heads while making 1. Reflecting the game's beetly, iridescent colours. 2. "Cocooning" the book in a slipcase/box (first time we've had a really nice slipcase AND a really solid box for one of our DW books). 3. Circles/spheres/holes (hard to do with rectangular books!).
