WINE will be your BFF. I haven't used Linux in a hot minute, but I ran Linux Mint. I don't know if it's still around, but it was one of the more painless versions. I had to run a bunch of stuff in WINE.

Not to mention having to work around incompatibility for common applications. I'm on a Mac, and I still have to find alternatives for apps other people take for granted.

If someone asks you why you dislike a thing, be prepared to be specific and show that it's something you genuinely feel and understand, and don't be critical of the people asking you these questions.

This is in no way a defense of what we call AI, but I want to point out that it's been in use for longer than people think. Video games back to the 70s. Autocorrect. Web searches. Operating systems.

I hate people passing off AI as their work, but I also hate an echo chamber.

I also highly suggest people actually educate themselves on what LLMs truly are and the difference between assistive and generative AI. If you're going to be critical about something, educate yourself about it first.
