this story I'm working on keeps getting weirder and weirder (complimentary)
Sam Neill and Laura Dern, poorly de-aged
when i try to work on an old story I put away for a while and it's still not quite working
"I Pooped My Pants" by Mr Farts
this is what having an 8yo does to your algorithm
tfw you're in a camera-off meeting and aren't contributing anything
at the point in drafting this story where I'm mostly just making notes to myself for the next rewrite
wan little (corn) husks
"Toni Morrison had advice for the students in her Princeton University creative writing class: 'I don't want to hear about your little life.'"
when i look up a recipe online
Update: This might be the strangest thing I've ever written but I am quite enjoying writing it.
I have not written much of anything for ~a year but have been trying to get back in the game. Realized this morning that the story I'd been working on was written from the wrong character's POV and when I switched it, the whole thing came to life. Haven't felt that in a long time. Not a bad feeling.
pretty great review of Gloria Patri here π
also: I agree! I love both @austinross.bsky.social stories I've been lucky enough to publish on Short Story, Long... but something about this one that I published on Hobart 7+ years ago still kinda especially lingers for me! it's such a fun, unique, killer banger

Something about a Short Story, Long story I clicked on your 'Random Story' option and was presented with the 'The Beach Leads All The Way To The Deep Sea' by Austin Ross which I got to say I did enjoy but honestly when I read 'A Hungry Bear Does Not Dance' I was captivated. Such a unique story, such a great way of telling the story too, kinda reminded me of Hunter S. Thompson or Thomas Pynchon OK to share your above response? Sure!
surely others have and just didn't mention it, but kinda been dying to hear that a submitter found and loved a story in the archives via the "random" link!
have now seen. hell yeah, this is 100% Sad Dad approved

I had the privilege of seeing this short film based on my story in a packed theater last night. Hopefully it won't be the last time I experience something like this but I'll be riding that high for at least a few days. The jokes were landing, people seemed really into it. I was blown away. So cool.
