Bought and watched it on Apple TV. I loved every second of it. Wonderful supplement to Tune In. Canβt wait for whatβs next.
Watched on Prime--the presentation of the 1962 history in setting the stage for The Beatles was engrossing! It is definite must-view for Fab Four fans & anyone wanting to understand the work ethic, drive, and confidence behind the lasting cultural force that captivated and changed life in the 1960s.
An engrossing journey through The Beatles' break-out year of 1962. I bought the film as a bit of a down payment on the future volumes, and because it's always a joy to hear the incredible story of The Beatles illuminated as no else can @marklewisohn.bsky.social letterboxd.com/nickfield90/...
Spending the evening with the guvnor - congrats to @marklewisohn.bsky.social on the tremendous βEvolver 62β Required viewing for anyone Beatle inclined.
Not yet, no. But when I have that info, I'll post it on Bluesky.
Rest of the world: Liverpool West, (production company for my film Evolver:62) say "Distribution outside the USA and UK hasnβt been settled yet and will have a slow rollout." When I have more news, I'll share it here. DVD from bit.ly/3Zap37F is US product and sent from there, so it won't be cheap.
US people: I'm delighted by the appreciation from those who've seen Evolver:62. There are several ways to see it in America:
Apple TV: apple.co/46m6L7x
Google Play: bit.ly/4qsUXHy
Fandango at Home: bit.ly/45SSvTu
Amazon US: amzn.to/4pXf4gL
UK people: I'm thrilled by the warm appreciation from those who've seen Evolver:62. The production company Liverpool West is US-based and has focused most distribution efforts there so far. There is just one UK availability, which is amzn.to/4bP7bGS
Itβs fantastic! Just finished watching it and actually got back on Bluesky to congratulate you since I saw on your website thatβs where to find you. Thank you so very much for your commitment to tell the story of the lads with such respect and accuracy and passion
This, by @marklewisohn.bsky.social, is truly brilliant and totally absorbing - and despite having been a lifelong Beatles fan it's full of colourful detail I hadn't heard before. Thankfully it's also available on Apple: tv.apple.com/us/movie/evo..., so I don't have to tell you to give JB your money.
I'm told it will but have no details yet.
Thanks. But no other show I've presented has been filmed.
Today I become a film star. Well, hardly, but the documentary based on my 2022 London theatre presentation Beatles/Evolver:62 is available from Amazon Prime, 108 minutes of surprising and engaging cultural history for the price of a coffee. In the UK the URL is www.amazon.co.uk/gp/video/det...

Congrats to Beatles Books Podcast on making 100 β a brilliantly simple idea done simply briliantly. I'm pleased to have been part of it.
There isnβt a grain of evidence for this and itβs hugely unlikely. A fun thought, though.
George Martin wearing a tuba as a hat.
George Martin would have been 100 today. Here he is characteristically being both musical and stylish.
Sir George Martin was born 100 years ago today. He and the Beatles lucked into their glorious partnership and humankind is the lasting recipient. I was privileged to work with George and hoped to mark the centenary by touring a theatre show about his life & work β but I must stay focused on writing.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Great to see George alluding to @marklewisohn.bsky.social 's research for his excellent "The Beatles Live!" book in episode 9 of the Anthology: "He ran out of beauty competitions to judge!" That's all the Threetles who have joked about it now.
How lovely to have given the Fabs a laugh!

The word is that Iβve a 'movie' out shortly. It's true. My 2022 theatre show The Beatles / Evolver:62 was filmed, and selections from that + new material shot in Liverpool and London comprise a feature that'll be streaming from Feb 2026. More details to follow, sample here vimeo.com/1023543808?f...
15. The Beatles, All These Years, Volume 1: Tune In, @marklewisohn.bsky.social . I avoided it for years, because even for me, it's surely too much - it can't sustain the interest while ending in 1962, can it? Oh, yes it can. It's magnificent.

Just up on the Telegraph, a thorough and thoughtful piece about the wrongheaded policy changes at WAC. Thanks to Kate Murphy, @illuminations.bsky.social, @unamccormack.bsky.social and @marklewisohn.bsky.social for giving up their time. Gift link here

In Tune In I quoted a 1960 Paul McCartney letter declaring that the Beatals (yes) had βcompetence, confidence & continuityβ β¦ and just today Iβve found that Paul nicked it from a Midland Bank cheque book, CompetenceβContinuityβConfidence being printed on the inside back cover. Great nicking, Paul!

This is a story: an act of self-harm and cultural vandalism by the BBC.
