It just seems odd to add a new icon if the only change is "now a rotation for BOB OMBS ONLY is included" when they could do that for shells too or something. Given the icons represent Balloon Battle and Coin Runners, a third there seems more clearly a separate selection to me.

You've already been able to do that since Custom Items were added -- just booted up battle mode to see and yeah, you've been able to set it to only Bob-Ombs since that hit. I don't think they'd change the online icon if it was simply a chance of Balloon Battle variation with bombs only

Saw this mentioned in my discord server but it seems we're finally getting a content update to Mario Kart World soon? One of the screenshots promoting this online event has a DIFFERENT icon for Battle Mode, suggesting Bob-Omb Blast might be getting added!
