Real strength isn’t impulse. It’s strategy. Before we send American troops into conflict, Congress should be asking: What’s the objective, the timeline, and the exit strategy?
If you can’t answer those, don’t start a war.
We deserve leadership that puts people over politics.
There is legislation in Congress that would create a universal basic income in the United States. The BOOST Act, introduced by Rep. Rashida Tlaib, would give $250/mo. to every working-age American. It is funded by a 2.5% tax on income above $30k for single filers and $60k for joint filers. Single filers earning < $150k and joint filers earning < 180k would see a net benefit.
Spoke with Attleboro Democrats about the need to address economic insecurities due to AI-related job displacement, including the need for Medicare-for-all, Universal Basic Income, and strengthening collective bargaining rights.
While Trump is distracted waging a pointless war, the U.S. is hemorrhaging jobs and unemployment and inflation are on the rise. “America First” has always been a lie.
A fair tax system requires billionaires and corporations to pay their fair share while workers keep more of what they earn. We need a wealth tax on the ultra-rich, higher marginal rates on top incomes, and a corporate automation tax.
