Really interesting to read anyway. I miss more discussion about art and politics.

Ian Rankin, who writes about music all the time, has a good way of getting around this: he paraphrases, instead of quoting. And he uses the song titles, which are not subject to copyright.
Addictive*, they mean.

Clouds loom high over a distant lighthouse. A small sailboat passes in the foreground, and above a massive woman towers in the clouds, flanked by two owls. The woman is surrounded with pale drapery that mimics the color and shape of the clouds. She looks down upon the lighthouse and boat.
gonna call this one done, I think ๐ค

Unsolicited writing advice, no: 73:
Stop calling yourself an "aspiring writer."
Just write.
Now, you're a writer.
Keep writing, reading, observing, learning.
Soon, you'll be a better writer.
Your art will betray you.
It will look better in your head than on paper.
It will make you feel untalented some days.
Love it anyway.
Because one day, it will also surprise you, fulfill you, and remind you why you started.
The struggle isnโt in the art. Itโs in avoiding it.
The anxiety, shame, comparison, and doubt all fade the moment you start drawing.
Pick up the pencil and begin.

Rockstar really risked with the style of GTA VI ๐
The wait worth it ๐
I don't use words like 'awesome' lightly, but this is it. Pure joy, and it only gets more joyous the more you explore!

I've studied the rose of nazism and fascism for 20 years. Everyone needs to remember they are doing it this way intentionally to make you so overwhelmed and hopeless that you don't even call to complain. BE A MENACE. Call and tell them your story every single day. BE A MENACE TO THEM.
Oh Captain, my Captain!

That's true. Actually I myself should learn more about how queer community was persecuted then.
It is just the most accurate / official version from 1946. It has been edited multiple times since decades ago to eliminate the communist or to put other parts before them. It'd be actually cool to update it with our current situation, but the person above is just sharing the authentic.

This is exactly what I am going through nowadays. Past frustration and fear, I am starting to see progress I couldn't expect a few months ago. It took many hours of discomfort and I'm still fighting it in smaller anxiety peaks!
In drawing, you will inevitably hit a wall.
Things were working out, you were feeling excited and then... dread.
Why can't you draw anymore? Why is everything frustrating?
This is the moment RIGHT before you see improvement. Don't stop.
When you become ok with creating things that you donโt like and making mistakes, it give you permission to try. And when you just try, beautiful things start to exist.
Never stop drawing!
