I’m not aware of the male/female occurrences, but here in the UK, when a man reaches a certain age, or if it runs in the family, we receive a package from the NHS every year, asking for a stool sample for analysis and if the are any anomalies, this is rapidly followed up with a hospital referral.
I think, maybe one of the few good things we benefited from the Covid pandemic was the habitual wearing of a face mask.
A must in regions of high pollution, or unknown dusts.
Very common in China and South East Asia.
