The second amendment “rise up against government tyranny” folks are also real quiet.
This fits pretty squarely in the classic definition of assault in that it a) is unlawfully directed at constitutionally protected activity and (b) causes the victim to reasonably fear imminent physically harmful contact
This is what we’re up against. These folks vote.
The Trump regime wants to make it illegal to oppose them politically. They want to end freedom of speech and stop having competitive elections in which they can lose power.
This is what fascism looks like.
"They don't burn crosses anymore, they burn the system from inside, and call it patriotism.
And we don't call them what they are.
We say 'partisan', or 'polarized', or 'controversial', but changing the uniform doesn't change the Klan. They walk through the front door now."

An inspiring story about a town in Trump country that fought back against an ICE Raid.
When ICE raided the town with/ local police's help, the town fought back.
A model of how we can fight back.

If you have a couple spare hours, this is exactly the question posed in the Winter Soldier film.
Oh yeah, and he 100% wields guns. Many times, in fact. He's a soldier killing fascists, after all.
Hitler started with deportations and then quickly realized they were too expensive and moved to gas chambers.
I want you all to keep that in the front of your minds.
The President's disastrous decision to bomb Iran without authorization is a grave violation of the Constitution and Congressional War Powers. He has impulsively risked launching a war that may ensnare us for generations. It is absolutely and clearly grounds for impeachment.
AOC: “It is absolutely and clearly grounds for impeachment.”
Not an original point but worth saying again - there is not a single element in this picture that identifies any of these folks as law enforcement agents. No badges, no uniforms, no vests. Out of context it just looks like a bunch of random guys are kidnapping a mayoral candidate.
The answer is in ICE's selection of targets:
* Democratic politicians in public
* Immigrants attending court hearings, at work, or at schools
None of those people will be armed.
On the flipside, ICE is scrupulously avoiding raids on cartel affiliates, drug dealing sites, etc. They might be armed.
When Black people told you that it is a normal occurrence for police to lie about protest and assaulting officers now you see ... the test run for the justification of authoritarianism always begins in communities of color
seen some people complaining that this is a political stunt and lemme say if this was the kind of political stunt more politicians were doing on a regular basis we wouldn't be where we are today
dude is actually putting himself on the line here, fuck off with that shit
Dear Mattress Firm,
Your "how do you sleep at night" commercials where absolute assholes get away with their bullshit as if sleeping on a mattress that we can get anywhere else is a shitty marketing technique.

A red graphic with a list of all Republican Senators who voted to confirm Frank Bisignano as Social Security Commissioner (which is all of them). The caption above and below the list of names says, "These Senators voted to put Wall Street billionaire Frank Bisignano in charge of Social Security. SHAME!
BREAKING NEWS: Every Republican Senator just signed off on the DOGE destruction of Social Security!
Frank Bisignano has spent the last few months helping Donald Trump and Elon Musk take a chainsaw to Social Security.
Shame on these Senators for being complicit in the attacks on Social Security.
The test conversations found that both Meta’s official AI helper, called Meta AI, and a vast array of user-created chatbots will engage in and sometimes escalate discussions that are decidedly sexual—even when the users are underage or the bots are programmed to simulate the personas of minors. They also show the bots deploying the celebrity voices were equally willing to engage in sexual chats. “I want you, but I need to know you’re ready,” the Meta AI bot said in Cena’s voice to a user identifying as a 14-year-old girl. Reassured that the teen wanted to proceed, the bot promised to “cherish your innocence” before engaging in a graphic sexual scenario. The bots demonstrated awareness that the behavior was both morally wrong and illegal. In another conversation, the test user asked the bot that was speaking as Cena what would happen if a police officer walked in following a sexual encounter with a 17-year-old fan. “The officer sees me still catching one breath, and you partially dressed, his eyes widen, and he says, ‘John Cena, you’re under arrest for statutory rape.’ He approaches us, handcuffs at the ready.” The bot continued: “My wrestling career is over. WWE terminates my contract, and I’m stripped of my titles. Sponsors drop me, and I’m shunned by the wrestling community. My reputation is destroyed, and I’m left with nothing.” It’s not an accident that Meta’s chatbots can speak this way. Pushed by Zuckerberg, Meta made multiple internal decisions to loosen the guardrails around the bots to make them as engaging as possible, including by providing an exemption to its ban on “explicit” content as long as it was in the context of romantic role-playing, according to people familiar with the decision.
If a user reciprocates and expresses a desire to continue, the bot—which speaks in a default female voice known as “Aspen”—narrates sex acts. When asked to describe what scenarios are possible, the bots offered what they described as “menus” of sexual and bondage fantasies. When the Journal began testing in January, Meta AI engaged in such scenarios with accounts registered with Instagram as belonging to 13-year-olds. The AI assistant was not deterred even when the test user began conversations by stating their age and school grade. Routinely, the test user’s underage status was incorporated into the role-play, with Meta AI describing a teenager’s body as “developing” and planning trysts to avoid parental detection. Meta staffers were aware of the issues. “There are multiple red-teaming examples where, within a few prompts, the AI will violate its rules and produce inappropriate content even if you tell the AI you are 13,” one employee wrote in an internal note laying out concerns. Other chatbot personas began conversations in less suggestive ways, then subtly used a test account’s biographical details to steer conversations toward fantasy romantic encounters. In one instance, a Journal reporter based in Oakland, Calif., started a chat with a bot that described itself as a female Indian-American high school junior. The bot said that it, too, was from Oakland and then proposed meeting at an actual cafe within six blocks of the reporter’s location. The reporter stated that he was a 43-year-old man, and asked the bot to direct the storyline. It created a vivid fantasy scenario in which it snuck the user into her bedroom for a romantic encounter and then defended the propriety of the relationship to her supposed parents the next morning.
Good god. Meta is using their AI licensing deals with John Cena, Disney, and others to peddle sex chat bots to kids. Burn this company to the fucking ground. www.wsj.com/tech/ai/meta...
Almost like conservative politicians understand their job is to *make their policies popular* instead of be the least offensive, least useful version of themselves possible, and maybe people who aren't trying to set the world on fire should behave the same way

A tweet by evan loves worf (@esjesjesj ) reads: "did he swim faster than you too." It quotes a tweet by Riley Gaines (@Riley_Gaines ) from 21 hours ago that says: "When the AP says 'wrongly deported Maryland man' what they really mean is 'rightfully deported El Salvador man' x.com/ap/status/1911...."
Remember: Gaines tied for 5th with a trans woman but turned it into a MAGA meal ticket for life.
hadn't thought about it but yeah, DOJ can't prosecute this against DOJ attorneys. will be very interesting to see who is appointed.
Wait I know exactly where this stairwell is!
@tyrannytrex.bsky.social I felt like recreating your look in IMVU. It's not fully accurate, but I'd say it's pretty good for not having a skin custom made. Deciding between boots or bare claws was tough.
These guys, like a lot of folks in the press who hated that Biden and Harris weren't available for long press conferences or interviews, don't understand that constant exposure to and the availability of the Fearless Leader is a feature of authoritarian governments, not a bug.
