it is evil.
i know a lot of my fellow liberals dont like to use that word. but im happy to use it when the shoe fits. these kids need to be protected, not attacked. going after them for craven political purposes -- any purpose -- is evil. and those who do so should burn in hell for all eternity.

Everyone is pretty familiar with the Emmett Till lynching in 1955.

Everyone is pretty familiar with the Little Rock Nine in 1957.

But have you heard about Wrightsville, Arkansas in 1959?

You probably didnt, because it barely became public until 2018

Finding a Sense of Place in the Discomfort of Cedar Fever A rush of allergy-inducing nostalgia welcomes a writer back to Central Texas

1/ Every winter and spring, cedar pollen blankets Central Texas and makes millions of people miserable. For @texashighways.bsky.social, I wrote about why I look forward to it anyway and what it taught me about belonging somewhere. texashighways.com/culture/find...

MULLIN: There’s gonna be some (drinky gesture), and some (snorting gesture), and some (humping gesture)

MULLIN: Oh, it doesn’t matter, it’ll just be the two of us.

A lot of hip-hop is also pop music, which often means that some of the same stuff that happens with pop albums (weaker material toward the end, trying to appeal to different markets/audiences/etc., "here's the song the record company wanted," "here's the song featuring my cousin") sometimes applies.

Trump Has Been Sued 198 Times for Withholding Funding. It Hasn’t Stopped Him. (Gift Article) Immigration demands for highway dollars, D.E.I. rules for homeless grants: how Trump has tried to wield spending to get his way.

An important piece showing that losses in court haven’t stopped Trump from seizing Congress’s spending power and targeting dissenters and β€œblue states.”

Wyoming lawmakers' proposal to ban 'explicit' books from libraries falters as clock runs out The Legislature was advancing a bill that backers saw as a common sense way to keep "sexually explicit" books out of kids hands. Critics saw it as a book ban, and Teton County librarians have lined up...

THE HORRIFIC BOOK BANNING BILL IN WYOMING WAS KILLED.

IT'S DEAD!!!!!!

When we talk about Baby Boomers not getting off the stage: In 1997, the US president was born in 1946.

In 2007, the US president was born in 1946.

In 2017, the US president was born in 1946.

And next year in 2027? The US president will have been born in 1946.

I think it's (less kind) one of those where it's a better story than it is an album, or (more kind) one of those where the group of people that might like it is small, but, within that group, it really resonates.

INNOCENCE & DESPAIR needs a designated cheerleader that's also a short essay about layered nostalgia, kids vicariously experiencing grownup emotions, and the idea of play in childhood education.

Not that I'm capable of writing something like that, but I'd for sure like to read it.
