DS9 was the first Trek my Dad saw, and he saw it when it was releasing weekly. He loved it. Its a sad truth but it seems no matter the era, some fans have strong reactions on initial release. Social media nowadays just amplifies it.

And DS9 is now one of the most beloved Trek series, my #1 for sure
