My take away from this story: Not only do the majority of people want open & accessible libraries, many people will also put in the work to make it happen

Of course, this assumes the uncle NEEDS to be at Thanksgiving
The drunk uncle theory.
You donβt argue with the casually homophobic uncle at Thanksgiving dinner to change his mind; you argue so that the closeted cousin at the kids table knows thereβs safe people and better possibilities out there
It is just after 9 p.m. in Minnesota and I'm reminding Minnesotans to eat, hydrate, take meds, etc.
Reminding folks not in Minnesota that Minnesota is still under attack from the federal government & we really need help. See below post/links.
never, ever, ever, ever accept "how will you pay for it?" as an argument against social programs.
The question is always "what if a kid is wrongfully transitioned" and never "what if a trans kid is denied the ability to transition and endures years of excruciating dysphoria and has to have multiple surgeries later in life to fix the issues caused by going through the wrong puberty."
How to win in November
One of my favorite parts of last nightβs election results.
The only Democratic talking point should be: we donβt abandon anyone.
Finally bringing Weird Book Wednesday over to Bluesky!
This Weird Book Wednesday Josh shares a classic weird book with a perfect image for the novel as an art form

Primary the hell out of all the collaborators.
Thatβs a 29 point swing. In Arkansas.
π¨ EXTREMELY IMPORTANT ELECTION UPDATE π¨
π¨ YOU MUST VOTE AT YOUR ASSIGNED PRECINCT π¨
We are hearing that NEARLY 1/3RD of Dallas County voters are being turned away from polling locations because they are NOT at their assigned voting locations. #VOTE
On March 10th, AABB, together with the Mass Freedom to Read Coalition, is hosting a Mass Freedom to Read Advocacy Day at the State House and online. That's 1 week from today!
We invite you to participate virtually by...
Hello, book people! I am the book content editor for Reactor Mag and I'm looking for 2026 sci-fi, fantasy, horror, romantasy, and speculative books coming out in the second half of the year! If you have an adult or YA SFF/H book out July-Dec (or publicist), share the link/info here!
every time someone shares a shitty op-ed piece by a shitty writer in [insert legacy media org here] to dunk on it, they should have to share something made by someone awesome
Wayyyyyyyyy to early to really hope anything, but if one of them can be held accountable, they all can
because I keep forgetting to mention it: LITERALLY ANYONE can nominate books for this prize! yes! that means you! you have until march 31st!
I wrote my rep. Hope you will too! Book bans like these benefit no one.
I just sent $20 to Ian to help this family. I'd like you to chip in a few bucks if you can too.
Frame from campaign ad by Rep. Dan Goldman. His face full on center frame under which is the caption in all caps βABOLISH ICEβ
Public pressure means something. Primaries can change policies. In NY-10, Dan Goldman has been running ads for months.
Primaried from his left by @bradlander.bsky.social, Goldmanβs ads have gone from βAgents should have to carry IDβ in January, to big bold graphics this month that say βAbolish ICE.β
Ah well.
I really want to compare translations at some point!
Did you need more foundational 20th-century avant-garde poetry in your life? I staff picked a new translation of Vallejo's Trilce!
New Yorkers! Have you contacted your governor today!?!?!?
My grandmother is a fan of Jordan Wood if someone needs a non-Mills option. (Though she would be fine)
Congrats!
This is also a really good articulation of how I think bookstores should stock their shelves. The idea that you should include books you don't agree with or like does not REQUIRE you to carry bullshit. That doesn't change just when a major mainstream party becomes a bullshit fountain.
Have you voted for One Day Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This yet?
