2001 - That year the City Council gave notice to close the pool citing running costs & lack of use, but local community opposed the idea, beginning a 140-day long occupation of the Baths building - the longest occupation of a civic building in UK history.

25-years ago this month the campaign to ‘Save Our Pool’ began… - the campaign at Calder Street Baths swimming pool in Govanhill, Glasgow, 2001.
