Was my lovely great-uncles funeral last week. A farmer from Penton, a lovely service with the extra poignancy of the reading of @rsthomaspoet.bsky.social ‘The Bright Field’ which was just perfect for him.

A view from the gospel pass, looking into the far distance
A clear church windows looking out to the hills with ‘I shall lift up mine eyes’ etched into the glass
A tiny whitewashed church with wooden bell tower and 2 small windows. Sitting beneath a hill.
A winding road up to the hills with the sun beating down
Not sure Wales has ever been this kind to me weather wise. Maybe it’s because I’m learning the language.
Honestly you need to do commissions. I want to be a Bod character!
She not an adviser on it’s never has been. Sorry.
A student called Lucy is asked what they are listening to. Their reply is that it’s Wave of Mutilation by Pixies, the song reminds her of her grandparents as they played the song when she was little.
Lucy will now be 27 and I feel as old as the hills @pixiesofficial.bsky.social

I’m kind of glad I have the DVD I never liked the song, mainly because if the way it was sung.

The irony of being in this pub when I noticed my wedding ring was missing.

Blue dusky light fills the scene, with snow-covered mountains visible in the distance and a graveyard in the foreground. There is a statue of a man at the back, with a fjord behind him. The rest of the snowy graveyard is full of gravestones and illuminated crosses (with the wires visible on the ground!).
A friend just reminded me of one of the lovely traditions that #Iceland has - lighting up the graveyards in the winter to remember & celebrate the dead. There is so much darkness there in mid-winter, so it's wonderful when you see these lovely lights.

Noswaith da! My second ever post. Trying to wean myself off from my captor. #stockholmsyndrome

Luckily Hester isn’t bothered by fireworks, but a smoke alarm is another thing…
Prompted by last night’s chat about folk horror, and awful weather, I’ve dug this out of my collection for some Thursday afternoon frights. Thanks @bobfischer.bsky.social for the reminder of how scary The Exorcism is!
I absolutely loved this when it was first aired. I thought about it quite recently and had to Google the name.
I will take a photo. She’s chosen autumn/Halloween because she loves it but she’s so not a zombie girl!
My friend has been growing ‘zombie’ pumpkins for her wedding! I am beyond intrigues as to what she is going to do with them.
The best telly I’ve seen this year (I was as usual late to the party) and I’m not a big spy fan.
Bullfinches have gone with most of mine but I don’t begrudge them.
