Not many records left in football but winning the Champions League and getting relegated in the same season is still there for the taking.

Trump has fully shattered the world we all grew up in. It’s a dramatic break from how things worked before, even compared to the Iraq War and other misadventures - the United States abruptly tumbling over a cliff and becoming literally more reckless and domineering than Putin’s Russia.

So the man who thought that Khomeini and Khamenei were the same person is now in charge of Homeland Security.

These two responses are contradictory. You can’t say that the UK’s actions over Iran should be β€œPurely defensive” and then complain about Starmer doing just that bsky.app/profile/did:...

1 Me: He froze like a deer in the headlights.
2 Deer: Okay tough guy, what would you do?
Me: It’s just an expression.
3 Deer: No, no, no. You’re standing there, suddenly all you see is a blinding light. What’s your plan? I want to hear it.
4 Me, frowning: I would freeze.
Deer: I fucking thought so.

This is one of my favorite comics we've made.

A New Spy Radio Signal Has Appeared. It's Broadcasting in Farsi. A new shortwave numbers station appeared the day the bombs fell. Nobody knows who's running it.

This is fascinating.

Seems notable that Starmer's line about why we're not joining the American bombing didn't just mention international law, but also the need for "a viable, thought through plan". Implicitly the position of the government is that the US has no idea what it is doing.

I like the β€œwe’ve been at war with iran for 40 years” talking point because by implication surviving members of the reagan bush natsec team should be tried for treason

Analysis | George W. Bush's Iraq invasion was preceded by months of meticulous planning, and yet history regards it as a failure. Perhaps Donald Trump's loose, improvised approach to invading Iran will be the key to its success.

Don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect that an organisation making these kind of claims one minute past polling close is clear about who saw things, where, and what they saw. It’s Tuesday night, polling closed Thursday night, and some of these things are still not clear.

I think that's right and, although there's so much loathing of Starmer on all sides, and plenty of legit criticisms to be made of him more generally, IMO he's handling this crisis as well as any British PM could - and certainly far better than any of the other party leaders would.

This IPSO adjudication against the Telegraph is quite something

Confirms their story titled: β€˜We earn Β£345k, but soaring private school fees mean we can’t go on five holidays’ was completely fabricated, with the family involved non-existent and stock pictures used
