Opening the 70th IPCC Bureau Session at WMO HQ, IPCC Chair @jimskeaclimate.bsky.social stressed the key role of the Bureau in advancing IPCC’s work in the seventh cycle & invited focus on the preparation for the Panel’s review of IPCC Principles & Procedures at its next Plenary Session in March.
The 70th Session of the IPCC Bureau is taking place at WMO HQ this week. UNEP Climate Change Division Director Martin Krause stressed that IPCC remains central to UNEP and to the world in informing ambition, enabling accountability, and illuminating the paths still open to us.
Members of the IPCC Bureau are meeting at the World Meteorological Organization WMO HQ this week to progress work in our seventh cycle. At the opening WMO SG Celeste Saulo commended the IPCC on its progress in this cycle and highlighted how IPCC science is the foundation of effective climate action.
The 70th Session of the IPCC Bureau opened today at WMO HQ in Geneva. IPCC Chair Jim Skea opened the meeting along with WMO SG Celeste Saulo, UNEP Director Martin Krause and IPCC Secretary Abdalah Mokssit.
Speakers acknowledged the decade of service by Abdalah Mokssit as IPCC Secretary.
In preparation for IPCC's 64th Session in March, the IPCC Bureau, which provides scientific & technical guidance to the Panel is holding its 70th Session at WMO HQ in Geneva. IPCC Chair Jim Skea opened the meeting with WMO SG Celeste Saulo, UNEP Director Martin Krause & IPCC Sec Abdalah Mokssit.

Master’s students from #MEIGProgramme are WMO this week. Their curriculum included a presentation by IPCC Dep Sec Ermira Fida about how IPCC’s reports provide the scientific basis for policymaking, IPCC’s role, key findings of the sixth cycle & the products of the seventh.
Together with WMO Deputy Secretary Ko Barrett, IPCC Deputy Secretary Ermira Fida spoke to Master’s students from #MEIG_programme at WMO HQ today about the role of #IPCC, scientific findings from our sixth cycle and the reports we are currently producing in IPCC’s seventh cycle.
