Just finished reading "A Simple Favor" by Darcey Bell. I liked the movie a lot already, and the book was great. It's a solid case of both being worth consuming. The dark tone of the book was fantastic coupled with the pacing. Fun and easy to read.

Additionally. If you want something to be frenetic, force your readers to move faster through the text. Shorter paragraphs and sentences. Control flow physically. Richard Matheson is a master of this. "Duel" was brilliant for this technique.
Most of what I do comes from a love of fight choreography. However, the best tip I could give is being able to work it out some in real life. Finding access to a heavy bag can help a lot. Then you can get a feel for the real flow of movement.
They can be difficult for sure.
