Pretty amazing the #ALLforCITY is on these lists with (checks notes) one total goal.
Orozco’s doing enough to keep the job right now so it might boil down to whether Mbacke is doing enough in training to usurp him. So far, it’s not Mbacke’s job by default and we might need to start adjusting expectations for our backline accordingly. #AllForCITY
Still mad about this…. #AllForCITY
Part of me is glad to get 3/4 tough matchups out of the way while the roster isn't set/100%. It's worth noting that Mbacke, Fallou Fall, and Löwen have yet to get any minutes for #AllforCITY. There's still a lot of season to play!
All this to say, there are issues with our roster that I detailed my thoughts on yesterday but the schedule’s done us no favors either beyond testing #AllForCITY against some of the very best early on… and asking patience of the fanbase, which is more of a bigger ask after the last few years.
I’ve maintained these 1st 4 @stlcitysc.com games were likely the most difficult 4 game stretch of our season.
LAFC: 4-0 1st team to keep 4 straight clean sheets to open a season in MLS history.
Seattle: 3-1 w/3 clean sheets & only a loss to the team they haven’t beaten away in 15 yrs. #AllForCITY

Óscar Benítez earns a red for a second yellow and will likely miss at least one match. #AllForCITY
Just Something to think about.
Sometimes the other team is just better, not that we suck and everyone needs to be fired.
I've always approached games against SEA, LAFC, Club America as where #AllForCity should be striving to get to.
I really hope everyone who complained about the #AllForCity loss to SEA watched SJ v. SEA tonight.
SEA, up 1-0 early, smothered SJ defensively like they did to us.
SJ came in 3-0-0 with 6g/0ga; coached by an MLS legend; and had never started a season with 3 straight wins.
xG: SEA 0.49; SJ 2.50
Tomas Totland returned to full training late last week and is starting with #allforcity 2 tonight at Ventura County. Notable given the play of Wallem and Santos over the past two weekends, if he can go at full intensity he’ll force a conversation.
After New England drubbed Cincinnati today, the bottom three teams fighting for the Spoon are a former St. Louis CITY coach, the current St. Louis CITY coach, and the current St. Louis CITY coach's former club. The Spoon is coming up all CITY. #AllForCITY
One positive for Mykhi Joyner: he is not in the CITY2 team today, which I kinda feared after he was only given 6ish minutes last night #AllForCITY
I guess we’re just not doing a formational XI this week for CITY2 but Tomas Totland makes his return to the field tonight!
CITY2 looks to keep their 🔥 start to 2026 going after 2 straight Ws and 7GF/0GA so far. #AllForCITY
Tomas Totland starting for #AllForCITY2.

Filing away for later:
3 of the top 6 leaders in #allforcity goals added are subs, including Mykhi Joyner, who has played 6 minutes of stoppage time this season.
Asked Damet about the subs last night. He wanted to make the Célio/Sangbin subs before the 2nd goal, but certainly noticed their impact.
Three months later, this feels even more relevant as #AllForCITY are the lowest-scoring team in MLS.
It doesn't change the criticisms, but Hartel was frustrated afterwards. #allforcity
"Honestly, I saw not even a touch. I was very, very surprised that the referee took the goal back. In the end, we can't change it. Timo told me he didn't touch him crazy. So if he says that, I believe the man."
An alternate angle of the call against Baumgartl that wiped out the #AllForCITY opener. I see lots of contact, but nothing outside the realm of normal for a set piece that close to the area. I also don't see anything that warranted the whistle.
As a fellow 0-win team coming into this weekend, I'm glad NE is drubbing CIN today. Get it out of your system, guys. I didn't want #AllForCity to be going up against an equally win-hungry team next week. This is not the CIN team of the pat 3 years (1-3-0; #23 in the Shield after today).
Up continued:
- Teuchert: he looks healthy and mobile and for now that puts him in this slot
- Perez: he looks to be a solid bench option which means he’s made significant progress in his development
#AllForCITY
Stock up:
- Durkin: didn’t see this one coming but Durkin has been very good, especially against LAFC
- Timo: he’s been very solid in the center of the back 3
- Orozco: I don’t expect him to be a starter for much longer but he’s been near perfect and we weren’t expecting much
#AllForCITY
Stock down:
- Sangbin: performed similar to last season but this system doesn’t highlight his strengths
- Edelman: hasn’t shown the growth the team wanted and is being outplayed by Durkin
- Wallem: positioning and defense has been good but is he wearing his shoes on the wrong feet?
#AllForCITY
Unchanged continued:
- Santos: he’s doing the good things we expected and the bad things we expected
- McSorley, MacNaughton, Cordova, Joyner, Totland, Celio: haven’t seen enough yet but I’m hoping we get to see extended run outs for Lukas, Mykhi, and Celio soon
#AllForCITY
Stock unchanged:
- Hartel: he’s our best player still but not at his best yet
- Burki: he’s been okay and probably a bit unlucky so far
- Becher: outside of Charlotte he’s looked the same as last season (not good)
- Polvara: he’s been solid and I see signs he’s getting more comfortable

Through 4 @stlcitysc.com games against tough competition, I was thinking about whose stock on the squad is up or down. Thread with thoughts below #AllForCITY
It looks to be soft contact from the side/behind; the defender was looking for it IMO. Would have really liked to see VAR recommend a second look at this. #AllForCITY
New England is cooking Cincy rn... hope @stlcitysc.com is taking note.

#AllForCITY isn’t that far off from getting results. If they can become clinical in the final 1/3; and I know thats a big if right now, results should come. Aside from the scoring, three of the four performances have been mostly positive.
Isak Jensen goal! #AllForCITY
