There’s a narrative that has “Pyromania” by #DefLeppard as a kind of pop-metal zenith. I’m a Lepps lifer, but would counter argue that #Priest beat them to it with “British Steel”. Or, perhaps more accurately, “BS” represents the apex of a certain type of 1970s metal sound they helped pioneer.
