The bottom of the photo shows the "X" structure of of the Fledgling's bracing wires, and the connection to the javelin, which looks like an aerodynamic stick. The entire background is bright, casting the greenhouse glass windows, Goose, and Fledgling in shadow.

Another Pic from the Museum: a wee contrail heading South, just above the bracing wire's javelin on our Curtiss Fledgling (first flight '27), and just below the Goose's #2 engine (first flight '47).

Wish it'd been a 737 (first flight '67), but 'twas an ERJ175 instead.

The closest is the Bell 47 made famous by Mash, and the other is a Raven outfitted for aerial spraying.
