I think most legal pages, such as privacy policy, fail to meet S.C. 3.1.5 Reading Level (Level AAA), #WCAG 2.2.

In terms of a small change: try a “should” hunt.
If you expect people to act on your content (definition of #PlainLanguage), then eliminating “should” is a fairly simple way to help them.
A should hunt helps to:
- get to know the content
- do immediate useful change
- create habit of iteration

Even if your sentences aren't perfect, as long as your document has good structure, you can be understood. Focus on creating a strong structure, more than on “perfecting” the English wording.
