Trolling the student with a raspy throat into not talking for a full year was supremely slimy, but the chapter did have a good Pinoko panel, so who's to say how good the chapter was, really.

Thank you to all the people who are good at talking about random things for hours.
Every time I finish a movie I didn't like, I think of this Makima quote. Just one step closer to one I vibe with, I guess.
Bare minimum, I am proud of myself for thinking "huh, this feels like Eternal Sunshine but more abstruse," then I checked the DVD case and yeah it's written by the same guy
pfft I misspelled the title both times. Nevermind, I don't get this movie at all.
Synedoche, New York. I feel like I slip off 96% of artsy fartsy movies. And then there's like 3% I understand and enjoy, and 1% I don't get but am intrigued by all the way through. Synedoche was that 1%.

Distinctly remember seeing the sets for DB 1-7 and Z 1-8 in Borders alongside this. I feel like everyone I knew thought doing a variety pack was worthless, but I guess the collection scene has changed enough for people to find this novel and interesting? (pic source www.reddit.com/r/MangaColle...)
Someone on reddit asked me about these, so thought I'd post for any youngins. Viz once had mail-in orders to get a cardboard box/housing for your DB/Z. They absolutely did not double check the width for later releases.
The kid even has the Gohan hair. Just looked it up and Toei definitely had enough time to see that Piccolo would be good. I mean the gap isn't that big, but in terms of character progress it is.
Poster for Ocean Waves (1993) showing two characters on a beach but it's edited to say "The Beach That Makes You Old" instead
That movie wasn't as bad as people said.
The original track is region blocked on youtube, but this cover is pretty spot on. The singer even looks like Izumi Sakai, which considering the channel is exclusively Zard covers, I'm assuming is something she noticed and just went all-in on.
Randomly remembered this ZARD track that sounds like it came out of a jungle hiking montage from a steamy low-budget romance I'd rent at Blockbuster because the cover made it look like a Jurassic Park sequel (non-pejorative)
RE9 comic Big monster dragging Grace away as she screams Monster gets shot in the face BLAM!! Leon smugly: "Seems like she was... a bit of a drag" Grace, having nearly died by a giant freakish monster, looks up at Leon entirely confused "huh?"
i almost had my head bitten off by a giant freakish monster, why is this old man making lame jokes at me π #re9
Guy looks like an ultimately minor but really annoying Ace Attorney witness named Laiken Subscribe
Look, everyone! A 2020s refresher that bootlegging/piracy are brought about due to service-level failures! This short was only ever going to be shown once at an event. Had someone not cam recorded itβand Khara not accidentally(?) attached a 4K copy to their takedown noticeβwe wouldnβt be seeing this
there's so much bad in the world but there's also people who lift up and carry an elderly bat around every day so he can pretend he's flying again, and that's the part of the world I think is worth fighting for
A watercolor painting of the DragonQuest slime smiling in the ferny sun-dappled undergrowth of a forest, a pair of dragonflies buzzing overhead

Honest to god one of my favorite anime-only moments. A lot of that episode exists in the gaps left by the manga so perfectly.
Toei writing what Toriyama was too afraid to.
It's the 27th Anniversary of the first Digimon Adventure movie in Japan & Digimon anime as a whole! The first movie came out the day before the show did in Japan, and is a unique & interesting piece of animation for the franchise.

Is Dailymotion seriously the only place with English subs up? I am once again reminded that outside of anime, Japan is horrible at making their pop culture readily available internationally. Got me living like a 2008 cave man over here...
Lorenzo Music will always be the goat, but I'm glad they're looking to other voices outside of "smarmy white guy" for newer projects.
Really makes you wonder how much Shenron cares about context.
