Lewis seems very positive and hungry in his post-race interview. He’s encouraged! He knows he was quicker and he knows Merc aren’t *that* far ahead. He knows with a bit more car development he could be right in the fight.

Lewis didn’t get the podium this time, but, never mind - just be encouraged that his race pace his back. It looked like he was the quicker of the two, which didn’t really happen last year.

That was a fun race. Charles vs George in the early stages was constantly back and forth - just a shame Ferrari handed it to Merc far too early and easily.
Both Ferraris off the line very quickly and Lewis rapid at the end.

Not so much a party mode… this is a party engine.
In all honesty, my biggest concern right now is the “super clipping”. Watching/hearing the cars just run out of breath and fall impotent at the ‘climax’ stage of a long fast straight, is so sad and depressing. #F1
As for Merc engine… other teams also have that engine and they’re not exactly troubling Merc at the front, so, it’s not all about compression ratios.
Let’s just hope Ferrari can close a gap. And Kimi can at least keep things interesting.
It’s the start of a very long season. I don’t think everyone needs to panic before the first race has even happened.
Perhaps Ferrari boys are really going to be fighting for 3rd place trophies all year, which, isn’t ideal but that’s the way the sport goes sometimes.
Ok, so, two key takeaways:
1. Merc are clear. At least until June, which *might* remove engine advantage (I’m not convinced tbh).
2. Ferrari in the mix behind Merc despite having problems with energy deployment. So, possibly a clear number 2 team in optimal conditions?

Just watched the repeats of the two practice sessions. Interesting stuff. Almost impossible to reach any conclusions, but I’m hopeful for Ferrari. I think they qualify behind Merc and maybe McLaren also, but hopefully will swarm and pass at the start, as per testing. #F1
