Everyone watches women’s sports, but no one wants to pay a beat writer to cover them.

This lack of coverage will be felt hard as hell in women’s soccer (and soccer in general soon) and women’s basketball soon despite access and demand growth because folks are doing the same dumb shit that’s been done with mens sports. Five entities cant cover the whole sport or tell stories.

If there's not significant investment in dedicated media in women's sports — not just "media companies," whatever that means now, but actual game coverage by people who know the topic — this entire enterprise can only go so far.

Podcasting is not free. Social media and content creation is not free. No support to help sustain means you lose money yourself due to costs and baby then you can’t afford travel and to do content without going in the red in this economy. Add refusal of entities trying support or sponsor wompp

Invest in women’s sports (media)

Btwn laying off media staff, or sponsors only wanting to fund retired players/huge outlet while refusing to support smaller/independent media:this will happen frequently for wcbb, woso & WNBA and NWSL. Alot of us cant afford to foot our own bilis anymore so we wont be in press conferences/events.
