Amazon’s cloud unit has suffered at least two outages due to errors involving its own Al tools, leading some employees to raise doubts about the US tech giant’s push to roll out these coding assistants.
Amazon Web Services experienced a 13-hour interruption to one system used by its customers in mid-December after engineers allowed its Kiro AI coding tool to make certain changes, according to four people familiar with the matter.
The people said the agentic tool, which can take autonomous actions on behalf of users, determined that the best course of action was to “delete and recreate the environment”.
lol, AWS vibe coded itself an outage

7 Reasons Teens Say No to AI
Some young people only turn to artificial-intelligence chatbots as a last resort, citing concerns about relationships, creativity, the environment and more.
As these teens describe, AI can diminish human relationships; devalue art; threaten the environment; lead to laziness; give unreliable results; pose privacy concerns; and be misused.
So, please, stop with the narratives of inevitability and let's embrace a pedagogy and politics of refusal.

The story about MSFT building a massive DC in AMS despite a ban on hyperscalers is indicative of the legal system’s limitations in capitalism. The fixation on nonEU being the issue by some (next para shows int’l capital flows btw) reveals true goals of “dig sovereignty”

In 2023, the Heritage Foundation's Project 2025 identified Venezuela as one of "the five countries on which the next
Administration should focus its attention." Excerpt below offers a justification for the US' imperialist and colonialist ambitions.

Trump ne menace pas seulement ce qui restait de droit international en attaquant le Venezuela.
Il menace aussi la planète toute entière en faisant main basse sur d'énormes réserves de pétrole dont la combustion accélere le chaos climatique.

Why is so much news focused on the ‘operation’ and the ‘logistics’ of the Venezuela invasion?
More is needed on the illegality, casualties, reasons for absent and lukewarm political reactions, precedent setting, and implications.

The claim that “this is not the time to comment on” US’s illegal imperialist invasion of Venezuela makes me deeply ashamed and enraged as a Greek, further showing the EU’s demise. This, just a few days after he met with Netanyahu in Jerusalem. He must be brought to justice.

News organizations held off on reporting Venezuela raid
The American news organizations held their stories over concerns about endangering US troops.
Mainstream Big media will always prioritise protecting the ruling class than upholding so called democratic values no matter how much they purport to work in favour of the latter:

Commission fines X €120 million under the Digital Services Act
Today, the Commission has issued a fine of €120 million to X for breaching its transparency obligations under the Digital Services Act (DSA).
For all the critique I've done to the COM, the DSA enforcement team deserves so much praise. 1) Deceiving users with blue checkmark; 2) obscuring info re: ads; 3) making life of researchers re: data access difficult = €120M. Not bad

There'll be no burst bubbling, because they're actively being bailed out (& de-risked) by governments as we speak (as @smw.bsky.social has said). AI companies are becoming "too important" to fail as more govts get infrastructurally dependent on them, with the risk of enshittification increasing.

Kris Shrishak and Abeba Birhane say policymakers should stop peddling in unscientific discourse about "AGI" and "superintelligence."
We need our policymakers everywhere to be attuned to the needs of the people, not the whims of CEOs -- and especially not CEOs in the grip of TESCREAList fantasies.
