Tony and I have joked for a couple of years now that we'll be "releasing a book", and guess what? I'm going to make it happen! Our "book" will be an interactive resource, guide, and an entire library of accompanying videos and exercise files! Exciting times, my friends! 🥰

A bit of a longer-term goal is taking all the concepts, notes, slides, & exercises that I've already written/created for the Audio Engineering for Voice Actors course with
Tony Wijs, expanding, refining & putting them together in a way that you can take course at your own pace.

..not only show people HOW to do it, but to give them the info & tools necessary to fully UNDERSTAND what it is they were doing, too. Soon, I'll be putting this all together in a more easily-digested, self-paced format - and don't worry, my notes/slides will still be part of it!

I recently ran a really successful event for my work,

That's good to know re: stable release. I've been an early adopter for things like online platforms, which is generally fine cos nothing is reliant on them yet, but something like an OS (esp. as a creative)? Yeah, no - that, plus massive games & new consoles = no early adopter Neth 😅

I was hoping to hold off from updating to Win11 for a good long while yet, but for a whole bunch of reasons I've decided to just bite the bloody bullet and get this over with.

Hasn't come at any small cost, and I've only done it because of work needs. 🥲 I also pay for 2TB of cloud storage, for all the shared / hosted files I use as part of my work...

It's an organisational nightmare if you aren't careful 😅

No, but having several SSD & HDD drives to act as scratch disks, combined with a decent GPU for photo, video, and audio processing, and I've got a fkn awesome machine for both work AND gaming 🥰

Not my normal content, but wanted to share my #gratitude

So I absolutely cracked the shits, have just cloned the old C:/ to the new 2TB SSD, changed the boot order in the BIOS, and am creating a clone backup of the old drive partition on a USB stick.

Windows 11 update will come next, and then full reformat of the old drive.

Well guess who independently removed their old defunct secondary slave GPU and installed the NVME themselves?

Guess who else tried to update to Windows 11 (begrudgingly) but had EVERY obstacle pop up, even after IT-day job friend gave me instructions to follow; which still failed...

My original C:/ boot drive was the now F:/ and was only a 240GB SSD - I've been hovering between 20 and 1GB of free space for two years, and I got sick of it.

So a new 2TB SSD on an M.2 NVME expansion card was acquired and had to be installed - trouble was, I've "never been good with hardware..."

I've learnt a lesson over the last couple of days, and that is that I should stop avoiding things just because I either *used to be* awful at something, or just never really tried and assumed I wasn't going to be good at it.

This instance? Updating hardware & cloning drives on my PC... 🧵 1/?
