A farewell post reflecting on four years at Tinybird, focusing on lessons learned and experiences in a startup environment.

After 4 years, 2 months, and 21 days at @tinybird.co, I’m ready to say goodbye.

I’ve enjoyed reading other "inside the company" stories, so here’s mine.

They're putting blue food coloring in everything "Why is my burger blue?" I asked, innocently. "Oh! We're making all of our food blue, all the best restaurants are doing it now." the waiter explained. But I didn't want my burger to be blue.

This isn't really about blue food coloring. It's about how systems subtly eliminate your ability to opt out, while everyone pretends you're the problem for noticing.

It seems to be about AI these days, but consider it as something more general.

Modal uses over 20,000 GPUs, outperforming a cloud provider by 50% on similar tasks. Another provider faces thermal throttling at 94Β°C. They've turned GPU reliability into a measurable asset.

Beyond Code Forget coding perfection. Real engineering magic happens when you understand problems, communicate clearly, and deliver value that matters.

This has been sitting in the draft folder for too long. It's time to publish it.

A couple of data infrastructure companies that come to mind that seem chill and interesting and enjoyable to work for (not a complete list).

Follow their devs! Maybe work for them!

SQL Is All You Need Our lives would be way easier if SQL and databases were more that just tools to insert and retrieve data. Let's play with the idea of building a machine learning algorithm by just using SQL and ClickHouse

This blogpost has been sitting on the back of my head since I joined Tinybird

Once I understood ClickHouse potential I haven't managed to prevent myself from thinking on solving problems I had in previous companies
