I am turning into my mother. Just picked up some shopping, and the place has new shopping bags. Good size, nice handles, solid construction. Out loud, I said, "Oh, that's a nice bag, will have to keep it." I've thought that before, but verbalizing is a whole new thing.

The first ~10 mins of every 1:1 with one of my Colombian colleagues is usually chisme. I once would have seen this as unproductive but now I see how much it builds connections between team members. Also it lets them get mocking Jaimito out of their systems prior to work discussions.
