Got a fever again. I hope it goes away too.

Still fighting a bad cough & coughing all day, but I pushed through & wrote 1,265 words today. Not as much as yesterday. But it’s momentum.

Sometimes you’re sick & still have to write through it—especially when you’re under contract and on a deadline. 🤕

I'm a big fan too!

At first I misunderstood, thought that she was vouching for the book like she does with her book clubs. That's why I bought it and then I went back and looked at the cover again and it said “co-author.” I was like hell no. But I still read it and it didn't even read like Coben.

Just finished I Will Find You by Harlan Coben—unputdownable. Picked up one of his newer books with Reese Witherspoon listed as a co-author. Tried the first 2 chapters… not good. Returned it the same day.

I’m always skeptical when actors claim they co-wrote a novel with a famous author.

I'm sick. Coughing my head off all day, but still managed to write 3,940 words and hit 60,000 words in my #WIP.

About 20K more words to go before Book 5 in the Serpent Series is finished.

Not exactly the writing conditions I’d recommend… but progress is progress.

Feeling pretty under the weather today. This cough started yesterday and hasn’t let up, but I’m still writing through it. Had to sleep sitting up cause I couldn't breathe. Hoping to hit 60K in my #WIP soon.

Had a dream about my sweet Abraham last night. He was happy, healthy—walking around, eating, playing like himself again. We had to say goodbye to him in July at 17½ after his health declined so quickly.

It was beautiful to see him like that again. Just wish it hadn’t only been a dream. 💔

My son got a little Spark Award at school for doing a great job & being helpful. So proud of him. But wow—he was so shy up on stage in front of the class. Totally uncomfortable.

My daughter is the exact opposite & loves the spotlight. Kids really do come with their own personalities. ✨

Had a productive day setting up marketing campaigns for The Serpent’s Bridge. It’ll be on sale for $0.99 from March 19–25, and it feels good to get that piece in motion.

Writing the books is only part of the job—authors also have to carve out time to market them, too. 📚

2 readers DNF’d — one said it wasn’t for them, the other changed their mind. I honestly respect that. I’d rather someone bow out than push through & leave a review that isn’t aligned with the book.

Anxiety is a strange thing. Even when life is going well, it can still try to take over. But today I wrote 1,000 words. That’s solid.

Especially when I was fighting my own body & the pull of anxiety. Progress doesn’t have to be loud to matter.

Today, it counts.

We did make one mistake we let our dog pee on our new sod and it burned the grass. So we have to fix that. Lesson learned.

After months of staring at dirt, we’ve got tiki torches, mood lighting, the pool glowing at night, a fire pit, and a gazebo pulling it all together. 🔥🌊

Our backyard finally came together — and it honestly feels unreal. Worth every dusty month.

I'm going to see if I can swim in it during winter when it is 54 degrees. Some cold water swimmers (I guess it is a thing) that considers cold water swimming 0-50 degrees! 🥶

I deal with anxiety & today I got in 64° pool water. Stayed in for 2 hours. My body adapted.

Afterward I felt unbelievably relaxed — like I’d taken anti-anxiety meds. Found out there are tons of health benefits to cold water swimming!

Officially hooked. Year-round cold swimming it is.

In 5 days, I’ve hit 9,181 words. Didn’t quite crack 10K yet… but tomorrow’s the day.

If I reach 10k words in 6 days, that’ll be the most I’ve written in a single week in a long time.

Feeling grateful for the momentum. Just showing up and stacking the words.

It’s wild how different the writing process looks for everyone. Some authors hit the same word count like clockwork. For me, life + work + anxiety all collide.

Took this week to focus on my mental health. Still pushed through. Big word counts.

Next week might be smaller. That’s okay.

Well, I took time off for my mental health this week and to focus on my writing. Certainly when work picks back up I'll have less time.

Been super slow before this. Not all weeks I get this word count out. Hoping I can keep going.

2,629 words written in my WIP today.

That’s 7,918 words in 4 days.

I feel good. Clear. Focused. Back in rhythm.

There’s something powerful about stacking days like this after a long slow season.

Eyes on 10K tomorrow. Let’s go.

Woke up early and already 1,277 words in. The day’s not even close to done.

Hit 50,000 words on my #WIP today and I’m finally back in that flow state — in the zone, clear-headed, moving with the story instead of fighting it.

Forward progress feels really, really good.

I wrote 1,671 words today and I’m feeling really good about this week.

In 3 days I’ve hit 5,288 words — the most I’ve written consecutively in a long time. Finally breaking out of those tiny writing sprints, clearing the brain fog, and moving with momentum again.

It feels so good.

It’s 75° and I’m already hot. 😩

I walked around the block twice as a break from writing and I feel like such a wimp. When Fresno hits triple digits, I’m basically living in the pool.

No shame. Just survival mode.
