GLAF will be in the Northeast from 5/7-10 at some of my favorite venues and places. Expect Grateful Dead classics of course, but we also love highlighting my dadβs more forgotten Dead songs, Phil & Friends songs, debuting music that my dad, brother, & I wrote together, and more.
Midnight North is hitting NorCal in April & SoCal in May. We had a crazy past few years that caused slowdowns in our show schedule - including some new additions to the crew! πΆπΆπΆ - but we are thrilled to be back together. You can catch us for a weekend a month through the summer, so more dates tba!
Catch me on the road this Spring with Grahame Lesh & Friends and with Midnight North! Both bands are my branches & leaves on the great oak tree that my family uses to describe the extended Grateful Dead world. May it continue to grow for the 300 years β€οΈ

Plus the festival also features Lucius (acoustic) featuring Griffin & Taylor Goldsmith, Madison Cunningham, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Jorma Kaukonen, Steve Earle & Friends⦠and more! Tix onsale Friday at 12ET at hudsonrivermusicfestival.com
This GL & Friends band features Rick Mitarotonda, Oteil Burbridge, Griffin & Taylor Goldsmith (Dawes), Rob Barraco, & Jennifer Hartswick - a true all-star band of folks Iβm lucky to call my friends (and my Friends).
The HRMF is a music and environmental celebration built in the memory & legacy of Pete & Toshi Seegerβs Clearwater Music Festivals that ran for many decades along the Hudson River.
I certainly never expected to gather musicians like these around me once, let along as many times as Iβve been able to. Iβm honored and thrilled to have maybe the craziest Grahame Lesh & Friends lineup that ever will be headlining the Hudson River Music Fest on 6/14/25: hudsonrivermusicfestival.com
Finally, thank you to everyone who came to these 4 shows, who watched these shows on streams, who came to any Phil show ever, or who loved my dad and his music. We love you too!
Itβs all another link in the Unbroken Chain βΎοΈ
My beautiful wife Claire was there supporting me (literally when I could barely make it through the donor rap). Her folks Kim & Clay being there made me so happy. Our nephew Levon was the star of Friday's dedication of Phil Lesh Lane! And my mom & my brother in CA sending their love to us from home
And of course, we held a blood drive on Sat that fully filled up its signup sheet! It was wonderful to make acoustic music for folks that came to donate blood at Garciaβs. The Red Cross collected blood donations from 34 ppl, which was way more than their goal of 22. Also, 12 were 1st time donors!
In addition to simply performing this amazing music, I wanted to honor my dad by using these shows to raised funds and awareness for the causes that our family believes in. To that end, over 4 nights we raised over $125,000 EACH for Undue Medical Debt and MusiCares, two absolutely amazing charities.
Jackie leading us through βCaution (Do Not Stop On Tracks)β on night 3 was such a thrill. And finally, the entire night 4 with the mighty Phil Lesh Quintet was such magic - I canβt even pick a specific moment.
Kraz & Rickβs guitar fireworks and guitar bromance developing on either side of me was beautiful to behold - 2 of my favorite players really connecting through this music. The night 2 Dark Star jam to open the 2nd set with Oteil on drums and Rashap & Minkoff on double-bass was epic and unforgettable
I have so many musical highlights in my memories from the wknd that I will only be able to fit a few of them into this post. I will always remember Amy Helm & Alex Koford joining me on harms to open the whole run w/ an acoustic βBox Of Rainβ, an opening concept that my mom & I both came up with.
...to my TFB & TXR brothers, to Rick & Jen & everyone who played in the 2020s editions of Phil & Friends, everyone who got on that stage had an important history with my dad and his music!
And the 30 musicians who joined me on stage. Everyone had performed with my dad before. The Chain is Unbroken. From the mighty John Molo, the MVP of the weekend, who had held down drums w/ my dad since 1998, to fellow bass player Oteil who jammed on drums with us at our Darkstarathon last year...
Then of course none of this would have happened w/o the PLF crew. 1st & foremost the great Molly Bills, who made this event happen. We also had Rashap pulling double duty prod managing AND playing bass. Then the whole PLF team - Scott, Yuek, Derek, Chad, Shaun, Summer, Jason, Eric, Peter, Perry β€οΈβ€οΈ
Peter came to me in Nov to let me know that the dates around my dadβs bday were available, & he & the team were so open to our ideas of the shows. From the charity aspects to keeping ticket prices low while still these musicians gathered, the Cap team was so supportive and it showed in the music
1st! Peter & the Cap crew - esp the folks behind the scenes who I was so thrilled to see again. There are too many to name, but you've all become family to us over the years. It was wonderful to see folks like Eliot running the stage & Ollie at the backstage door. Hereβs to more hangs at the Cap!
Itβs difficult to find the words but Iβm going to try to write a little something about the incredible Unbroken Chain shows at the Capitol Theatre. The main thing I want to do is thank all the amazing folks who made this four day tribute to my dad happen.

Testing BlueSky/Flashes as an occasional spot for me to share my film photos. Here are some shots from rehearsals for MusiCares Person of the Year celebrating the Grateful Dead. Ft. Dead & Co, Don Was & Rick Mitarotonda, Adam from the War On Drugs, & Jeff Chimenti & Benmont Tench - keyboard legends!
