From experience, the eBPF support these days is quite good in Rust. E.g. one of my coworkers has been working on this: github.com/javierhonduc...
As for system daemons, I don't think it's a substantially different experience from most systems languages though I'm curious if you have specific issues

Living here, this one's complicated. I get what you mean, but at the same time a market like this can be a productive site without needing to close the market. I think Spitalfields is an example of how a market can be adapted. The closing of the market is imo unfortunate, but we'll see

Frankly it's one of those languages you either love or hate. A big part of the complexity comes from pitfalls of other systems programming languages (like C++). If you're not used to shooting yourself in the foot with those, it can be quite frustrating
