🔬✊ One year later, we #StandUpForScience again.
Attacks multiply. Funding shrinks. But our determination doesn't.
Science isn't opinion, it's the foundation of democracy.
Institut Pasteur researchers are mobilizing. Join us.

We are very proud to present our newest paper on the role of Wnt signalling in abscission dynamics in stem cells! A brief thread to entice you to read Snježana’s exciting foray into signalling.

Thanks Iñaki 🙏 and thanks again for your useful comments on the manuscript!
Aggregation, choanoflagellates and extreme environments! Cool story!
Even more excited — our paper is featured on the cover of Science Advances!
Huge thanks to @alexandrejan.bsky.social who took this incredible photo of a ctenophore (aka comb jelly) and the editors.
Here’s the cover 👇

Thanks Rebecca! hope all is good with you (and congrats on your recent award)
Some of us know how sweet procrastination can be! If you feel the same, good news:
The abstract deadline for the EMBO Workshop has been extended to March 19!
Don’t miss the opportunity to present your work June 2–5 2026 in Oeiras, Portugal!
A bit late to the party- but this is one of the finest papers I have read in years. It is both super cool science, and does the near impossible in our field: grounding insights about the evolution of molecular mechanism in the ecological arena in which they (presumably) arose. It's a masterpiece.
Thanks Will! means a lot coming from you
Fantastic collaboration w/ @dbikard.bsky.social @audeber.bsky.social @rayanchikhi.bsky.social labs led by @jmouradesousa.bsky.social : We assessed the rates of variation of anti-phage systems in P4-like satellites and P2 helper phages. Quick conclusion: Huge variation! We focus on 4 key questions/5
This species can become multicellular using two mechanisms previously thought to be mutually exclusive

We have extended the abstract deadline by a week! Looking forward to seeing you many of you here!
Really nice to see @marstonlab.bsky.social's News & Views piece cover the evolution of budding yeast centromeres in @nature.com. Check it out for a clear and concise breakdown of @maxhaase.bsky.social’s new paper and ours! 🧬
You are finishing your PhD and looking to continue in science?
The Martin lab @biology-unige.bsky.social has an open postdoctoral position in cell biology to study cell-cell fusion. For more information, please consult mocel.unige.ch/research-gro....
Thanks for reposting!
Please tell me someone has written a paper about autophagy titled "Caveat mTOR"

Thanks! 🙏
Really excited to share our new paper in @nature.com! We uncovered how a physical instability of the cytoplasm coupled with the cell cycle drives cytoplasmic partitioning in early embryos #zebrafish #drosophila. Read more in this🧵 www.nature.com/articles/s41... 🤩

Deleted my data and account. I've had a paid OpenAI account for years.
Will be using other tools. LLMs have been fantastic for research and software development, but this is too much.
Do not miss this amazing conference! And if you are interested in mechanical forces in Evo-Devo, there is a symposium for you!
We are really excited that Euro Evo Devo will take place here in Scotland from the 9th-12th June, at the University of Glasgow!
Deadline for Early Bird Registration and Abstract Submission are rapidly approaching in March so do register soon!

Interested in doing a PhD in tumor mechanobiology?
At Université Paris-Saclay, the upcoming PhD selection process is open, and I’m looking to put forward a candidate to join my lab.
If you’re excited about uncovering how mechanical signals regulate tumor progression, please get in touch!
I actually haven't read that one! although it's been on my list for a while. Now I should read it with Hydra in mind
Thanks James! Hope you crack their chromatine code soon. We are working to deposit all strains in repositories, but in the meantime are happy to distribute them - whoever wants to work on them, please don’t hesitate to ask
