I know Iβve seen a Portland bike network map timelapse somewhere. Transit is easier, I imagine just Wikipedia has the max system buildout info

Oh theyβre quite aware
The number one thing that keeps me making videos instead of writing is the paralyzing fear of ending up being a topic on this podcast
One thing I feel ought to be discussed more is the fact that basically all rural and suburban places in the US are subsidized by cities. They resent cities. They insult cities. They elect politicians who abuse cities. But none of them could survive without cities.
The thing missing from most city paid parking plans is VALUE. No one wants to pay for parking! Itβs true. No one wants to pay for anything!
If you pay for a meter or parking space that you had to circle the block forever to get, what was the value?
Go big or go home on this.
But I need to get to fashion valley efficiently
It was very satisfying to watch Ray delete the freeways in this video.
a graph of seattle link light rail ridership, shown as a rolling 12M average
US transit data is out today, and Seattle's Link remains one of the fastest-growing rail systems in the nation, with ridership up 9% in the wake of the extension to Federal Way
Ridership should increase even further at the end of this month when the 1 & 2 lines are connectedπ§΅
I will watch it later tonightβ¦but I already have my own thoughts of course:

I donβt know if I can watch this lol
You have to hold a fuzzy lavalier in front of your face to be legit

Iβve had a few questions on this! General sale opens the morning of Wed March 11 for whatever tickets are left. Related, Hunter just added 200 more tickets to the presale batch in the last hour because theyβre getting gobbled up fast
I looked at a more modest proposal like this (for the video) but then decided, eh, screw it. But you could pair something like this with a congestion pricing zone. The region has invested billions in transit, letβs get our moneys worth
Thereβs no shortage of professionally licensed traffic engineers who will tell you that decommissioning I-5 is impossible, but also canβt explain how Vancouver BC functions (almost too well, given housing demand) with no freeway running through the center of the city
Broke: I-5
Woke: Lid I-5
Woke 2: Depave I-5 and fill with a linear park and tens of thousands of housing units
Oh no this might actually be viable
He just wanted to level up his shoe pic game
Unfortunately all those streets date from a time when it wasnβt illegal to build this kind of smart, walkable mixed-use urbanism in etc etc
These are like the Nextdoor of Reddit
Oh boy
I think I looked at what people said about me on Reddit like three years ago and made an executive decision to never do that again. But man Iβm tempted today
When it happens Iβm coming in deep undercover with no warning
I need to get there and ground truth this menace
Well said
Extremely legit
Might have to poll the audience to see who traveled the furthest
North Loop mentioned!
New for the Nebulized! Cities and freeways donβt mix. Here are 12 top offenders we should be doing something about
