The thing that sucks about Archipelago is that some games are maintained by people who simply do not care about making their game approachable for anyone that isn't as hardcore as they are.

I think it's better at *appearing* open than actually *being* open. There's a point where the game also just lies to you and says you can do two dungeons in any order but the NPC you need for one just doesn't spawn if you haven't done the other.
It also punishes you for engaging with the world too early because the game gives you a lot of hints for how to find the Ghost Ship but the hints don't actually work until you get the treasure chart that tells you outright how to find the Ghost Ship.
