unfortunate how dunked-upon this post is, and that Noah & Nate Silver critiquing Bluesky in this manner are reasonably accurate.
Bluesky seemed like a really awesome experiment in open social media ecosystems, but ultimately has ended up primarily being a lefty Gab/Truth Social?
Yeah my related "society is immutable, technology is mutable" take here is that we'll see eg: self-driving Waymo buses, or some other tech solution that rebrands buses w/ additional conveniences, and that'll probably be a cheap, low-congestion transit solution.

Surprised that this is getting dunked on, I thought Bluesky leaned further left.

One reason: The American Medical Association limits the number of new medical staff we can train each year, causing a shortage of doctors & raising labor costs.

Easy to imagine an alt world where doctors make less + medical school costs less.

Specifically, that there was a belief until the 2010s that tech was bringing liberty & democracy to the world.
Now, the all you can say is that itβs bringing growth - which does feel more R-aligned.
