Photo has the yellowed old-paper tint. Mackaill's hair is down, she is looking at the camera and holding what appears to be a silk shawl around her shoulders (and not much else)
A striking fan-magazine portrait of actress Dorothy Mackaill, 1923. She was #BornThisDay in 1903, in Kingston upon Hull, U.K. Much of her silent work is lost, but SAFE IN HELL (1931) is brilliant and easy to find.

Ladies in Retirement (1941), Moontide (1942), Road House (1948)
Ida Lupino. #WomenInNoir
A legend in front of and behind the camera, she's a #filmnoir force that credits singer, director, writer, and producer to her resume. During her 48-year career, she appeared in 59 films and directed 8.

The Trump administration is trying to build its border wall through Texas' Big Bend National Park, waiving 28 environmental, historical, and archeological laws to expedite construction.
These laws must be enforced and American public lands must remain in public lands. Period.

The American people rightly do not want a war with Iran.
President Trumpβs war is not smart, it is not legal, it is not morally right, and it is not in our national interest.
